What is an os (operating system)???
An operating system (OS) is a chain between user and computer in simple language it is an interface in pc.which makes pc or laptop easy to use. 

                                 OR

 A higher define of OS is.
An operating system (OS) is system software that manages computer hardware, software resources, and provides common services for computer programs.

 Types of operating system (OS)
1. Microsoft windows.
It is a type of operating system made by Microsoft Corporation on November 20, 1985, by and the owner of this company is William Henry Gates III. The  biggest  about this company is they never release there os version 9 but they have  Microsoft windows version list :

1.MS-DOS - Microsoft Disk Operating System (1981)  


ms-dos are basically the disk operating system that runs only when the disk is inside of pc or laptop, so it's clear that that os is already installed into that disk there is no setup inside the disk.

 it accepts your data by that disk it boots directly by disk. thank you. 

 2.Windows 1.0 – 2.0 (1985-1992)
Introduced and launched in 1985, Microsoft Windows 1.0 was named due to the computing boxes, or "windows" that represented a fundamental aspect of the operating system. Instead of typing MS-DOS commands, windows 1.0 allowed users to point and click to access the windows. as I tell you a chain that connects the user to the computer.
 2.0
In 1987 Microsoft released Windows 2.0, which was designed for the Intel 286 processor. This version added desktop icons, keyboard shortcuts, and amazingly improved graphics support on this operating system.

3.Windows 3.0 – 3.1 (1990–1994)


Windows 3.0 was released in May 1900 presenting better icons, better performance and advanced graphics than older and they increase the number of colors, 16 colors designed for Intel 386 processors. This version is the first release that provides the standard and better "look and feels" of Microsoft Windows for many years to come. Windows 3.0. introduce new programs like Program Manager, File Manager and Print Manager and games (Hearts, minesweeper, and Solitaire). Microsoft released Windows 3.1 in 1992.

4.Windows 95 (August 1995)

Windows 95 was released in 1995 and was a major upgrade to the Windows operating system. This OS was a significant advancement over its precursor, Windows 3.1. In addition to sporting a new user interface, Windows 95 also includes a number of important internal improvements. Perhaps most important, it supports 32-bit applications, which means that applications written specifically for this operating system should run much faster.


Although Windows 95 can run older Windows and DOS applications, it has easily removed DOS as the underlying platform. This has meant the removal of many of the old DOS limitations, such as 640K of main memory and 8-character filenames. Other important features in this operating system are the ability to automatically detect and configure installed hardware like we have into windows 10 plug & play

 and do you know the biggest fact about Windows 95 & 98 is that they both register as windows 9 so they don't release Windows 9 they directly release windows 10?

5.Windows 98 (June 1998)


Windows 98 released in June 1998 that offers support for a number of new technologies, like FAT32, AGP, MMX, USB, DVD, and ACPI. Its most, not visible feature like the older version, though, is the Active Desktop, which enables the integration of the Web browser (Internet Explorer) with the operating system.

  From the user's point of view, there is no difference between accessing a document residing locally on the user's hard disk or on a Web server halfway around the world.and they removed the plug and play from there.

 till they didn't introduce windows 10.it also have improved the programs like Program Manager, File Manager and Print Manager and games (Hearts, minesweeper, and Solitaire)
